The Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center Foundation (BSCC Foundation) is a California non-profit benefit corporation and acknowledged by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) entity. (BSCC Determination Letter)
The BSCC Foundation was established to support the programs of the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center and to work on prevention and awareness of child maltreatment and to conduct research on child abuse prevention programs.
The BSCC Foundation supports the treatment programs and operating expenses of the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center. The Center is located on the campus of Eisenhower Health in Rancho Mirage, California. www.barbarasinatrachildrenscenter.org.
Beginning in 2016, the Foundation funded the development of a series of Protect Yourself Rules for children ages 5-12. The animated series of videos is available for use by teachers, after-school providers, parents, and other interested parties by accessing www.fightchildabuse.org. Since 2016 the Foundation has continued to fund the development of new animated videos and animated short films and marketed those assets to teachers, parents, counselors and to teens and adolescents for our Teen Series videos. The videos are provided free of charge through the Internet. The videos are used in many schools throughout the United States in support of Erin’s Law curriculum for child sexual abuse prevention. Scouting America is also using the videos for both Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA for youth protection.
Views of our videos has exceeded 500 million worldwide.
The BSCC Foundation funded research involves national studies conducted internally and with our research partner at the University of California, Riverside. Published and non-published studies are available by contacting the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center.
In 2024 the BSCC Foundation began work on the Passion to Prevent Capital Campaign with a goal to raise $10 million to support construction of a new pavilion for child and adolescent health next to the current Children’s Center building, and to fund new videos and additional research. BSCC Board member, Diane Gershowitz chaired the campaign along with Olympic gold medal gymnast and abuse survivor, Aly Raisman. The campaign has exceeded it’s original goal of $10 million and is over $13 million toward a new goal of $14,000,000. The new AC and Shaughne Warnack Pavilion for Child and Adolescent Health is scheduled for completion in the 4th quarter of 2027.
The Foundation is managed by professional staff and a Board of Trustees dedicated to the stewardship of the funds donated, invested, and distributed. The Foundation accepts both restricted and unrestricted funds and endowment gifts. All monies must be used for child abuse prevention, awareness, treatment and research activities.
